For over a decade, SEAN’s overview of the Bible (Abundant Light) has been used all over the world to ground Christians in understanding and using the most important book ever written. Now updated and modernised, the new Pure Gold provides the western church with an invaluable small group learning tool. Pure Gold contains ten home-and-group studies which take growing and thoughtful Christians through the whole span of the Bible, teaching its make-up and demonstrating the unity, integrity and application of its unchanging message – God speaking to his people in his church!
Pure Gold gives an excellent grounding in an overall knowledge and understanding of all the books of the Bible, and how they fit together to give us a wonderful picture of God's plan for mankind.
It is packed with the most interesting facts about the Bible and yet, equally, is devotional. The students are given practical instruction in how to study the Bible for themselves, and to go on exploring its riches for fulfilling and effective Christian living.
All is set out in the clearest and simplest way, yet at the same time is profound in its teaching. It is an ideal course, especially as part of a discipleship programme, to follow on from the Life to the Full (older version was published as Abundant Life) course, or as a follow-up for Alpha groups.
Pure Gold aims to introduce the student to this fascinating book, the Bible, and to explain its overall plan and teaching in a way the student can understand, so that it is seen to be totally relevant to us; to encourage the students to apply its teaching to their lives and ministry today.
The course will help students to do this by:

As in all SEAN courses, is for the student to work through each week's assignment then meet together regularly with other students and a group leader (Tutor).
Because students are encouraged in the practical application to their own lives of what they learn, this course is not purely theoretical. It should have obvious results in changed lives, as the Word of God takes root and bears fruit in the students' hearts!
It is recommended that anyone who has not experienced the 'new birth' and become a believing Christian should complete the Life to the Full course first.
When necessary, rather than the usual two lessons a week, this course can be worked through at a slower rate, with the students completing only one lesson a week. In this case it would take 21 weeks to complete instead of the normal eleven
