Certificates and
Diplomas
'And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses
entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others' 2 Tim 2 v 2
SEAN Extension
College
SEAN Extension College
will award Certificates and Diplomas signed by the Director of SEAN UK to
students who have successfully completed the necessary number of SEAN courses.
These are self instructional, programmed courses that are not academically
exclusive and aim to train and equip 'ordinary' Christians who have largely been
bypassed by the traditional colleges.
All the courses are
shown at the bottom of this page under their respective categories. See each
individual page for more detail.

2. Certificates - An
Introduction to Biblical Study
Students require credits for the two pre-foundation courses, Life to the
Full (formerly Abundant Life) and Abundant Light, plus book 1 of the Compendium
of Pastoral Theology from the foundation courses.
This certificate, An
Introduction to Biblical Study, is designed for students who might find
enrolling in the Basic Diploma in Pastoral Theology too intimidating. However,
for many it will lead on naturally to the Basic Diploma in Pastoral Theology and
the other five books of the Compendium of Pastoral Theology, as they will
already have completed book 1.
3. Diplomas in
Pastoral Theology
a. Basic
Diploma. Students require six credits, one for each of the books of The
Compendium of Pastoral Theology (foundation course).
b. Intermediate Diploma. Students already holding the Basic Diploma
in Pastoral Theology require credits for each of the two foundation courses,
The Life and Letters of Paul, and The Pentateuch, plus any one special
training course.
c. Advanced Diploma. Students already holding the Basic Diploma in
Pastoral Theology and Intermediate Diploma in Pastoral Theology, require two
further credits - one for the foundation course, Jeremiah - Prophet of Hope,
and one for a further special training course.
SEAN centres and their
responsibilities
It is recommended that each local SEAN centre:
a. Has a
Supervisor with the time and ability to organise the centre, supported if
possible by a secretary and treasurer, who would then form a local committee
to take charge of building up the centre.
b. Has a filing system in which all student and study group records
are entered and stored.
c. Has a suitable leader for each group of students; the best number
of students per group being 5 to 10.
d. Has the means to finance the purchase of SEAN Study Books and
other publications, through students' fees and other sources.
e. Issues a credit to every student successfully completing a SEAN
Study Book.
f. Ensures that the corresponding credits are sent to SEAN
International (UK), for each student qualifying for a certificate or
diploma.
