We received this newsletter from a TEE body in Nepal which we are pleased to reproduce here (unedited). ITEEN is SEAN's sister body in Nepal.
Iteen is an Extension Bible College working in the church and for the church.
Our Motto: "Bible College at Home" (Acts 20:20)
In 1995 Iteen (Sean Nepal) started translating the TEE materials into Nepali. In 1999 Iteen launched its programme by conducting a three days tutors' Training with 40 candidates. Then it slowly spread throughout Nepal. From 1999 to 2001 we had 1049 students. During the last six months (Jan-June 2002) 413 new students have been added thus giving us a present total number of 1462 students in all.
Iteen conducts a three-day tutors' training every month. The tutors or the participants are from different parts of Nepal. In these three days tutors' trainings Iteen trains the participants basically on how to form and run an Iteen group. Thus, when the tutors finish the training, on returning home they form a group and run the course in their homes and churches. The course is designed in such a way that it cannot to done alone. To do the course it has to have a group of at least 5 people.
Since our work is expanding ITEEN family realized a need for field workers who would do all the follow up works in different areas and give guidance if any problem occurs. So God gave us two field workers for ITEEN. They are Mr. Surju Sar T.R and Mr. Chandra Pathak. They joined ITEEN from July 1st. Before that both of them worked as volunteers in ITEEN. We praise and thank God for this.
From Jan 2002 to July 2002 ITEEN has trained 68 tutors and among them 34 are active i.e. 50% of the trained tutors are running ITEEN groups, which we take as a success.
It is very encouraging for us to see the enthusiasm of the people for acquiring
the knowledge of the Bible and applying it in their daily lives.
The number of new students enrolled so far this year is 413. Our aim was to
have 360 new students in 2002. But it is so encouraging that we have already
crossed the boundary of 360 and reached up to 413 within six months. We praise
God for this.
So now we have a total of 1462 students.
We have been conducting 3-day tutors' trainings each month, but because of
the need we had to have 2 trainings in April.
The members of "Youth For Christ" requested for a special training
so we conducted a week's training for them (2-3 hours a day).
"At the time of preparing for practical session I went through the handout from the 3rd lesson [i.e., repentance from sin]. As I was preparing for the lesson it helped me to remember my sin which I had committed 5 months back. We had gone to Rupedia (a city in Indian Border) to buy sweaters to distribute for poor people. There we asked the shopkeeper to make a bill of lesser amount so that, we could pay lesser tax. At that time we thought that our cleverness worked out in paying lesser amount of tax. But after doing the lesson, I realized that in reality, this was not cleverness but instead I felt it was sin. I came to realize this matter after this training and I got a good opportunity to repent from my sin. I have decided that after reaching my place I will tell my friends who along with me committed this sin and to repent.

On the first day of training I thought that I, being a Pastor, was playing like a child. During the training we were given different things to play with and different materials to use. So it seemed very funny to me that we were not given talks and lectures but we had to do lots of activities. By the end of the training my previous thoughts changed completely. I realized that through these activities I had learned a lot about the TEE Method and this reminded me of Matt 18: 3, 4. “And (Jesus) said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself, like this child, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” The Abundant Life Nurture Course helped me to run the Baptism class in the church. Before that I used to teach them through my own Bible knowledge but now I have found a systematic and simple course.
